AWARDING CEREMONY FOR THE CLEANEST AND GREENEST LGU IN THE PROVINCE OF SOUTH COTABATO

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS!
 
The Provincial Government of South Cotabato in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government and Provincial Environment Management Office, conducted the 8th South Cotabato Recyclable Waste Fair in line with the celebration of Clean Air Month, Environmental Awareness Month, and Climate Change Consciousness Week, vis-à-vis the Awarding Ceremony for the 2024 Province-Wide Search for the Cleanest and Greenest LGU in South Cotabato, on November 22, 2024, at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center.
 
This was participated in by the Local Government Unit of South Cotabato together with Hon. Arthur Y. Pingoy, Jr., Vice Governor, and Hon. Alan M. Ines, SP Committee Chair on Environment, and the EMB XII.
 
SURALLAH has been named as the Cleanest and Greenest Municipality in South Cotabato, garnering a score of 92.38% and receiving a cash prize of Php 850,000.00, Plaque, and Perpetual Trophy.
 
Other winners also received the following awards:
2nd Place – POLOMOLOK receiving a cash prize of 550,000;
3rd Place- CITY OF KORONADAL garnering a cash prize of 350,000;
4th Place – TUPI with a cash prize of 200,000 and
5th Place – TAMPAKAN a cash prize of 160,000.
 
Consolation Prizes to non-winning LGUs with a cash prize of 50,000 each were also given to: Mun. of Sto. Niño, Mun. of Tantangan, Mun. of Norala, Mun. of Lake Sebu, Mun. of Tboli, and Mun. of Banga.
 
Special Awards were given to the following:
Mun. of Polomolok – Best Parks and Green Spaces Development with a cash prize of 30,000
City of Koronadal- Best Material Recovery Facility- 30,000
City of Koronadal – Best Roadside Beautification—30,000
 
Best SWM School Model:
1st Place – Mabini Elem. School, Brgy. Dajay, Surallah -30,000
2nd Place – Polomolok Central Elem. School, Brgy. Poblacion, Polomolok -12,000
3rd Place- San Vicente Elm School, San Vicente, Sto. Nino -8,000
 
Best Barangay:
1st Place- Brgy. Dajay, Surallah receiving a cash prize of 50,000
2nd Place – Brgy. Liberty, Tampakan -30,000
3rd Place – Brgy. Concepcion, City of Koronadal- 20,000
Brgy. Dajay, Surallah- Best Community Garden – 20,000
 
Other Special Awards sponsored by DOLE Phils:
Municipality of Surallah- Best Municipal Nursery receiving a cash prize of 30,000; and
Municipality of Surallah- Best Public Market receiving a cash prize of 30,000.
 
Recognition was given to Provincial Technical Working Groups: JOBIE P. DE JESUS-PEMO, MERCHELL D. YAESO-PEMO, KAYE G. SOBREVEGA-PEMO, ENGR. JOBERT GIL R. BREBONERIA-IPHO, BELEN S. FECUNDO-SCFI, ENGR.
